Seven years ago Robert Parker speculated that the 2006 Montelena Chardonnay would be "humming along 10 or more years from now". We couldn't agree more! This legendary and historic wine has come together beautifully. Through cultivated relationships we are honored to be offer Premier Cru customers a rare vertical of Montelena Chardonnay, starting with the 2006 vintage, and following with 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013, direct from the winery. 91 points Robert Parker: "Montelena's non-malolactic Chardonnay hasn't changed in more than 30 years, and they certainly deserve credit for that. It rarely sees more than 20% new oak, and in certain vintages can age remarkably well. The 2006 Chardonnay has slightly more honeyed apple notes and hints of freshly squeezed orange juice and lemon zest. The wine is incredibly consistent from year to year, seemingly regardless of vintage conditions, and the 2006 seems to be just slightly more evolved and forward than the 2005. I'm sure it will still be humming along 10 or more years from now." (12/07)

"... the best wines of 2012 ... for all their early appeal, still have a tightly coiled spring; high-pitched aromas of minerals, spices and flowers; more red than black fruits; and gripping finishes... Great natural concentration and small, thick-skinned grapes due to a poor flowering enabled Burgundy's better producers to make monumental wines in 2012." " Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar
"It is an inescapable truth that 2010 has produced another year of compelling Bordeaux that will go down as a prodigious vintage alongside 2009! " Robert Parker, Wine Advocate

"...2010 is the finest vintage for red Burgundy I have tasted since I made my first tour of the region in 1988. The vintage has virtually all the elements of Burgundy greatness: vibrant aromas and flavors accurate to terroir; bright acidity; inner-mouth tension; intensity without weight; palpable minerality; ripe, fine-grained tannins; and the concentration, balance and backbone to support a long evolution in bottle. " Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar
